Volunteers are an important part of the Kimel Family Centre for Brain Health & Wellness. Volunteers support our overall mission and day-to-day operations. Through innovative roles, volunteers enhance our services and encourage a community of care and learning.
Volunteer with Us
Whether you are an adult with professional or life experience, a retiree looking to give back to the community, or a high school student looking for community involvement hours, you will find a place at the Kimel Family Centre.
We offer a wide variety of roles for volunteers in assisting staff in day-to-day operations, program delivery, research assessments, and serving on advisory committees. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to share your experience, knowledge and skills while supporting the mission of the Kimel Family Centre.

Abeer Nadeem is a recent graduate from the University of Toronto, where she completed a double major in neuroscience and psychology. She is particularly passionate about the field of cognitive neuroscience and aims to have a meaningful career in healthcare while continuing to grow by acquiring more knowledge and skills.
Reva Lichtblau previously practiced corporate law and holistic nutrition, and has volunteered for multiple organizations aimed at improving the lives of older adults over the years. She wishes to continue to use her varied experiences to help promote healthy brain aging.
Zeynep Kurtoglu is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, majoring in neuroscience and psychology. She has a diverse background with extensive experience working and volunteering with older adults, as well as providing essential customer service in various settings including retirement homes, hospitals and community centres. Her ambition is to forge a career in healthcare and become an integral part of the remarkable team at the Kimel Family Centre, dedicated to advancing groundbreaking research in the field of aging brain health.
Brian Tanner is a seasoned healthtech executive and serves as the Vice President of Strategy Research at Blackswan Diagnostics. With over two decades of experience, he’s adept at commercializing consumer goods and implementing innovative healthcare solutions. A Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation (CABHI) grant recipient, Brian has collaborated with experts to devise immersive technologies that prepare seniors for radiology procedures, including MRI scans. Passionate about aiding those with cognitive impairments, he champions innovative treatments to a wide range of stakeholders. Holding an MBA in Operations Management & Marketing from Queens University, Brian is dedicated and results-driven, keen on enhancing the well-being of older adults and mitigating dementia risks.
