Join today for our low introductory membership amount of $25/month + tax for 12 months. This membership fee helps to cover the cost of programming. The research study is funded through grants and other donor contributions.

At the Kimel Family Centre for Brain Health & Wellness, we take brain health seriously. As a study participant, you’ll receive a comprehensive dementia risk evaluation, and our team of experts will develop a personalized programming strategy based on your specific risk factors. Our goal is to provide you with the tools and resources necessary to maintain healthy brain health throughout your life.

Member Code of Conduct

All participants in the Kimel Family Centre for Brain Health & Wellness are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. It is expected that all groups and individuals, when participating in activities, programs, or events, or using the facility, will adhere to the Code of Conduct.

Can I do a trial membership?

Trial memberships are not permitted.

How will I know when I can officially register as a member?

We will update our website when official registration is open. If you are already on the prospective member list, you will receive an email or telephone call informing you of this date.

Do you offer refunds for memberships?

Yes, if you have to cancel your membership and you have paid in advance, we will provide you with a refund for future months paid.

Can I pause my membership?

You can freeze (pause) your membership for a maximum of four (4) months. An administrative fee of $25 will be charged for each freeze request. Requests to freeze your membership must be submitted in writing with five (5) days’ notice to kimelcentre@research.baycrest.org . Should you choose to return at an earlier date, please email kimelcentre@research.baycrest.org. There is no administrative fee charged when shortening your freeze. 

How do virtual classes work?

Memberships cannot be transferred.

Can I transfer my membership to another person in my household?

Memberships cannot be transferred, but you can sign up for a family membership (for a couple in one household).

Who do I speak to if I feel the Member Code of Conduct has been violated?

Can I cancel my membership?

If you wish to cancel your membership, you are deciding to remove yourself from the research study. At the time of cancellation, we will ask for you to provide your reasons for terminating your membership. If you have paid your membership fee in advance, your balance will be refunded within five business days.

What would cause my membership to be terminated?

Without limiting the Kimel Family Centre’s ability to terminate this membership for cause, the Kimel Family Centre may terminate this membership for any reason at the end of any given month. If the Kimel Family Centre elects to terminate, the Kimel Family Centre will refund a pro rata portion of any dues applicable to future month(s).
